Day 16 of the 300-mile challenge

I started my bike ride with good intentions on Day 16.  I had planned to go at least 20 miles and to the Arcata bottoms.  That planned soon changed when my bike seat post decided to do the “Carolina Squat” on me.  The first “pop” of the seat moving caught me off-guard.  The second and third “pop” made me outright mad and uncomfortable.  On mile 8, I decided I needed to head back home and get the tools to re-adjust the seat.  I adjusted the seat and was getting ready to continue the ride and the seat “popped” again out of place.  I grabbed the tools again and torqued down the adjustment bolts even harder and then put the tools in my pocket.  In the end, I got the 20 (87.4% completed - 262.3 miles) miles in, but ended up with a sore behind and a dead battery.
